This route allows you to cross from east to west areas where once lived and hunted the man of Mondeval, a tour through the entire system Number 1 Pelmo - Croda da Lago of Dolomiti Unesco. An excursion that will take you back to ancient times, when these places were visited only by animals and some nomadic hunters.

From Selva di Cadore, you head towards Passo Staulanza. At the second bend on the left there is a large parking right at the foot of Mount Pelmo. From here a slight uphill dirt road easily pedaling leads to Rifugio Città di Fiume (1918m). After the Rifugio, you continue along the path n.467 below the slopes of the Col de la Puina.

From Forcella de la Puina you go down for a short distance and climb towards Forcella Roan and Casera Prendera. This stretch and the one leading to Forcella Col Duro in some places is not pedaling and the bike is hand-held. The single track up to Forcella Ambrizzola is on gravel but easy to overcome. Mondeval de Sora stands in front of you, with the mountains which are above it, the Lastoi de Formin and the Croda da Lago. On the left side, in the distance, you can see the rock where the tomb of Man Mondeval was found. The burial of the man lived 7000 years ago, is in the Museo Vittorino Cazzetta in Selva di Cadore. From the Forcella you continue downhill for a fun trail to Rifugio Palmieri and its lake (m 2046).

After a short break, we continue through the wood for the path 431 more technical narrow, where in some places the bike is carried by hand until you cross the main road of the Passo Giau at Pezie de Paru. You go up to the main road for a few meters until you turn right to the road that will take you to Rifugio 5 Torri. From Refuge, it begins the last uphill stretch to Rifugio Averau (m.2413).

Passed the refuge, immediately on the right you take a path that leads at the entrance of the spectacular
single track Strada de la Vena. A long and fun downhill, crossing the meadows of Mount Pore and accompanied by Marmolada views, brings you to the quaint village of Larzonei. From there, the path goes into an apparently flat ground to Colcuc - Canazei and descends to Colle Santa Lucia. Once on the highway in a short time it falls in Selva di Cadore.
