The pass is also a destination by lovers of cycling as it crossed several times by cyclists during the stages of the Gito d'Italia, but also by skiers, on it there are the ski slopes which give access to the 5 Torri-Lagazuoi.

Selva di Cadore is the gate of the Passo Giau as the road begins near the first houses of the village. After several turns the wood gives way to high alpine meadows up to the top, for those who want to continue along the opposite side it comes down to Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites.

Ski area 5 torri - Lagazuoi - Giau

From Selva di Cadore using the convenient Ski bus that runs through the village every 30 minutes you can easily reach the Ski Area 5 Torri - Lagazuoi - Giau.

This Ski Area inserted in the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo allows you to ski between the Passo Giau and Falzarego Pass through the Averau, the 5 Torri , up to climb by gondola to the Lagazuoi. From here the famous Armentarola slope allows to go down and link up with the Alta Badia slopes.  

Along these slopes  also passes the ski tour of the Great War, which, starting from Selva di Cadore continues to Lagazauoi - Alta Badia - Arabba - Marmolada come back in Selva di Cadore in the Ski Civetta.
