A stroll through Vivaldi's Four Seasons

Friday 19.07.2024
Malga Pezié de Parù
Address:

32043 Cortina D'Ampezzo (BL)

Birdsong, the sudden storm, the icy wind, the rain falling slowly on the frozen ground: nature changes with the changing seasons.

Antonio Vivaldi composes a musical ‘tale’ for solo violin, string quartet and basso continuo, describing this perennial transformation with brushstrokes of sound. The four seasons correspond to four concertos, each divided into three movements.

On Friday 19 July 2024, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Malga Pezié de Parù, children will hear the story of this extraordinary Baroque musician through an interactive multimedia video.

They will get to know Vivaldi as a child, see him walking through the calli of Venice, attracted by the soundscapes and the sound of the violin coming from a mysterious house... The succession of the plot, always poised between reality and fantasy, will dialogue with the music performed live. There will be games to recognise themes and instruments, to accompany rhythmic patterns using percussion and vocal onomatopoeias, to invent gestures and movements. At the end we will construct a score-book.
