For this tour you will be taking two different lifts. The first comfortable ride from Arabba with the Funivia di Porta Vescovo. After getting off we turn East following the signs for the Sentiero Geologico di Arabba Geological path and under the majestic Marmolada glacier we reach the high altitude Refuge at Passo Padon. From here, pointing South, we take the convenient mule trail that takes us to Passo Fedaia. Following the ski slope that goes East we descend using the chairlift as a point of reference. At the altitude of 1691 metres we go higher until the Passo Padon with the quad chair lift. Here we change face, towards the North, and begin a descent that looks difficult and merits caution for the first 6/700 metres, after which it winds without too much difficulty on the rolling fields of Monti Alti di Ornella to a junction that veers onto an important supply trail. From here, taking the right we go down more to a noteworthy plain that hosts the intermediate station of a cable car lift (which does not operate in summer). Here we head East along a tract that isn't well denoted at first, but which quickly becomes a clearly marked, easy trail over a pleasant if somewhat intimidating descent to Col d’Ornella. From here, on asphalt, we will descend to the valley, crossing the Cordevole torrent, and go back up to al Forte. From here, we take provincial road n° 48 back to Arabba to finish our tour.
