GREAT WAR SKI TOUR 1915-18
The so-called "Great War 1915-18 Ski Tour" (known also with its German name "Gebirgsjägerskitour" and with the Italian one "Giro Sciistico della Grande Guerra") is a marvellous circular ski route of a certain landscape and historic interest that winds through different valleys and ski areas of the Dolomiti Superski in the Provinces of Belluno and Bolzano-Südtirol on the most representative places of the ancient military front between the Reign of Italy and the Austrian Hungarian Empire during WW1.

The Great War 1915-18 Ski Tour offers spectacular views on some of the most beautiful and famous peaks of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site (like: Civetta, Nuvolau-Averau, Pelmo, Lagazuoi, 5Torri, Lagazuoi, Sassongher, Sella, Marmolada, Tofane and others) and many original war remnants (trenches, firing positions) on a loop route that revolves around the Col di Lana (also known as "Blutberg" which means "Mount of Blood"; it is located in the Municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, Agordino area, Province of Belluno), the symbol of the Great War in the Dolomites.
