The Sellaronda Ski Marathon is the most famous ski mountaineering race by night in the Alps. Its name derives from the ski area the ‘Four Valleys’, but which is also known by the locals as the ‘Sella Ronda’. The race route follows the pistes that hug the Sella group of mountains. Every year the race commences in a different Ladino valley, be it Livinalongo, Fassa, Gardena or Badia. IN 2013 race started from Arabba in Livinallongo, province of Belluno. The race frequently hosts the best teams (each composed of 2 people) from Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Germany, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, Norway, Denmark, the United States and Canada.
