Leave from the 19th tight curve of the SS of Pordoi Pass and along an easy path reach the little Col Vescovo Lake. Following the path signed SGA walk at the base of the rocky group of Sourasasc and cross the slope, which in winter is a ski slope, go up to Monte Piza which brings on its top a cross planted and blessed by Cardinal Mery del Val in the early 30s, this cross is said to preserve the valley from bad weather events. Along the climb to the top it is easy to see many defence lines, caves, a large stone staircase and a water tank all dated back to the 1st WW. From Monte Piza to Padon pass ( path n. 699), then carry on along the South side of the Mesola, go past the Ernesto Bontadini shelter and reach Portavescovo and down to Col Vescovo lake an back to Pordoi Pass. An alternative route: from Monte Piza you can go back to Arabba also following the “ Teriol de le Velme” ( the path of the alders n. 699).
