A mountain pasture at 1980 m situated between Monte Fop and the three spires of Cime d'Auta, Franzedaz is a peaceful oasis of serenity in every season of the year. You can reach the village with the CAI trail  n. 689 which follows a good forest slope from Malga Ciapela; the same path is also part of the high mountain route called Alta Via n. 2 which continues from the pasture until it comes to the juncture of the Valle del Biois where it is joined by the Forca Rossa 2490 m. The basin, carved on reddish rocks, is one of the most scenic valleys of the Dolomites and offers wide views on the Dolomite peaks of the Agordino  (Agner, Civetta, Focobon).
