De Zanna Castle

Cortina

It was erected at the behest of the nobleman Gianmaria De Zanna, towards the end of the 17th century.

Similar to a small fortress, it was not well regarded by the Ampezzo people and its construction was blocked in 1696, because it did not conform to the principles of the local constitution.

In 1809 it was set on fire and bombed by the French.

Today, only the two towers, part of the surrounding wall and the church dedicated to the Trinity can be seen of the castle.
