Address:

Osservatorio Astronomico di Col Druscié - 32043 Cortina D'Ampezzo (BL)

On Saturday 19 October 2024, the Col Drusciè observatory will be open to the public from 21:00 to 23:00 for telescope observations of the Moon and the most beautiful planet in the Solar System: Saturn.

The Observatory has a modern reflector telescope with a diameter of 40 cm, fully automated, that allows the public to directly observe celestial objects from a privileged position due to the clarity of the sky. From Col Drusciè there is also a suggestive view from above over Cortina d'Ampezzo and its mountains.

The observatory can be reached on foot in 20 minutes on a wide, uphill dirt road from the Piè Tofana car park. Follow the signs and luminous signals, a torch is recommended.

Beware that the observatory is located at 1800 m and may be cold.

Admission ticket 5€ per person, free admission for members and children up to 6 years of age.

You can enter the observatory during opening hours, without reservation.

IN CASE OF CLOUDY SKY: The observatory on Saturday 19 October will be open whatever the weather, even if the sky is cloudy. Obviously, if it is completely cloudy it will NOT be possible to observe the Moon and Saturn through the telescope. In this case we will NOT charge you a ticket, but you will be able to visit the observatory and learn about the Association's activities.
