From the Cortina bus station, ride the first kilometres of this circuit on the cycle track in the direction of Carbonin. After only 4 kilometres you will reach the first highlight of the route. The route runs along a former railway road, which repeatedly passes through tunnels of varying length. Cycling through these tunnels is a unique experience. The first road to the pass awaits you after just under 13 kilometres. The Cimabanche Pass is the lowest connection point between Toblach and the famous ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo. To the north of the pass are the Croda Rossa (3,148 m), the Picco di Vallandro, (2,839 m) and the Prato Piazza plateau (1,993 m); to the south, shortly after Carbonin, the first gravel path begins, where you will find the Monte Cristallo massif (3,221 m).After the Cimabanche Pass, the route continues to Carbonin, where you turn right onto the SS48. The SS48 then leads to Lake Misurina, from where, in good weather, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Three Peaks. All around are the rocky massifs of the Tre Cime, Monte Piana, the Cadini group, Monte Cristallo and, further south, the Marmarole and Sorapiss.

The lake hosted the speed skating competitions of the 1956 Winter Olympics. The route continues to the Passo Tre Croci, which is tackled off-road. To tackle these steep sections you will need to use the last remaining energy reserves on this tour. At the top of the Tre Croci Pass you can enjoy the last few kilometres downhill towards Cortina d'Ampezzo and be enchanted by the beautiful mountain panorama.
