How to get to Cortina

Embraced by its majestic mountains and nestled in the beautiful Ampezzo basin, Cortina, the Queen of the Dolomites, is ready to welcome you.

Our city is preparing to host some of the competitions of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, a historic event that will mark our second Olympic Games, after the memorable 1956 Olympics.
Currently, you will find several construction sites underway to refurbish the reception facilities and build services up to the height of the Olympic event. Here are some tips for getting around. 

Urban Mobility

To get around Cortina, we suggest you use the bus: until 15 September 2024, all urban lines will be free of charge. There are 9 urban bus lines connecting all the towns around the centre and stopping in Piazza Roma.


Extra-urban lines

The extra-urban lines that reach Cortina (A.T.V.O., Dolomiti Bus, Flixbus, Cortina Express) have the Ice Stadium as their terminus.


Available car parks

To park your car, several free parking spaces are available on both blue and white stripes. Read the signs to check if they are unlimited parking spaces or if you need to display a parking disc.

BY CAR

Cortina is crossed by route SS 51 in a North-South direction and the SR 48bis of the Dolomites in an East-West direction.
The motorway exits for Cortina are A27-Belluno from the South (44 mi / 72 km) and A22 Bressanone from the North (54 mi / 87 km).

Several bus companies offer daily bus services between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Venice Marco Polo Airport and Venice – Mestre train station.

The nearest train station is located in Calalzo di Cadore (22 mi / 37 km), which is connected to Cortina by several bus companies.
